The Book Thief was a really amazing book. It kept your attention and even though the narrator practically tells you what is going to happen, you still are shocked when it does. I found that Max was my favorite character and I always loved reading about him. This would be a great book for anyone wanting to know how WWII was from the German point of view, rather than always getting the American view. I definitely recommend it.

**** The Book Thief was a really good book and I would recommend it to anyone who likes reading about WWII. I really liked this book because it was different than any other book I have read mainly because of the narrator. At first I didn't understand who the narrator was, but then I really liked it because Death was the narrator which is different from all books because it is either a character or the author being the narrator. So that aspect of the book made it that much better. This book is about a girl named Leisel Meminger "The Book Thief" and death is telling the story of her life. Leisel goes through family deaths, moving to a new place, making new friends, having a new family, living through a war, more deaths, and basically everything you could imagine going through that would be hard in your life. Although it was a sad book I definetely recommend it!

The Book Thief is the best book I have read in this unit. It is narrated by death which at first it seems weird, but death is sympathetic for what he has to do. The story takes place during WWII in Germany. Liesel Meminger is a young German girl who desires to learn but is poorly educated. She has been robbed of her brother, who dies from sickness at the beginning of the book. Her mother disappears, and then she is left in foster care. A great deal has been taken away from her so she steals books to settle the score.

**** I thought that this was once of the best books that I read all year. It is the story about a girl who now lives with foster parents. Her brother passed away, and while at his funeral, she steals a book. Throughout the course of the book, she makes new friends, she learns how to read, and she steals more books. I liked the idea that the story was narrated by Death. I thought that it was an interesting concept to come up with. I found that the story itself kept me interested all the way through the book. I liked the idea of this little girl walking around stealing books. I thought that the ending of the book was really sad. Overall, I would highly recommend this book.

**** The book thief is an awesome book. The way it depicts life for a young girl, who was orphaned in Nazi Germany was well written. The author wrote this book in third person as told by the character death. The way that it tells how Liesel and the other characters felt from third person added an interesting twist to the book. What I liked about this book is it told a different perspective on WWII than books like Anne Frank because some parts of the books weren’t sad. I recommend this book to everyone.
