Ellen Hopkins "Impulse" is probably one of the better books I have ever read. I liked it a lot better than the first book I read in here, and I liked that one a lot too. Tony, Vanessa, and Connor had no idea about eachother and about eachothers problems until they meet at Aspen Springs Institution. This is a place where kids with problems early on in their life go to try to fix them. Ellen Hopkins gives each of the main characters a main issue that they are dealing with, and kind of messed up families. In the end, two of the three main characters gets back together with their family in the end, and they forgive eachother, but one person doesn't and the outcome is not what you would expect. It is a very sad and depressing book, but you learn a lot through the book and what it is actually like to go through drug addiction, cutting yourself, or very bad problems that take place in your own family. I recommend everyone to read this book, because it is very good, and it shows you what "bad" really means, and that kids our age actually go through things like this.

****Impulse, I thought was a really good book. When I was first reading the book it was hard to keep track of the charters. Conner, Vanessa and Toni are the main charters and they all have their own problems and they go to this rehab place called aspen springs. They have levels to achieve and the higher you get in each level you get a little more freedom in aspen. Some kids there are addicted to drugs or cutting them self. Others have killed when they were young. They all go there to get better and they go home to there families. It is hard for some because they did not have a family when they first came to Aspen Springs or there parents had nothing to do or did not want something to do with them. Or some of there parents are in a rehab them selves. There is a twist at the end of the book so I won’t tell you any more about it. I do recommend you to read this book because things like this do happen to teens our age. Enjoy!

I read impulse. This book was not one of the greater Hopkins books I’ve read. I thought It was pretty boring. This book is about a few kids who are sent away to a hospital place for people who need help with problems they are going through. This book is kind of cool because it gets people to know what kids my age are going through. It gives people a first person view into people that cut, do drugs or are totally crazy. The main characters at the place they go to become friends and are all trying to overcome something that is wrong. The book is sad, boring, and exciting all at the same time. In the ending something happens that is different and not expected overall it was an alright book.

**** The book Impulse is probably one of my favorite books. I liked how they explained the story from three different points of view, so it made it less easy to get bored. There was only on thing that I really didn’t like about the book and that was the ending. It was just something I think shouldn’t have happened and it made me cry. I would recommend this book to anyone though, even if it is kind of a depressing book. My favorite character was Tony, because it seemed to me that he went through harder times than the others but he was still able to try to make things better.

***Impulse was a very good book. It is about 3 people who all have one thing in common...they all tried to commit suicide, and all failed. They have been given another chance to fix their problems in Aspen Springs, a psychiatric hospital. The three become friends and commit to their road of recovery. Two are able to forgive and forget, but one isn’t so lucky. This book is one of my favorites. The ending was really depressing, but it is still a great book that I would recommend to anyone.

****I liked Impulse a lot because it was written from three characters points of view. It’s about these three kids who all end up in the loony bin, and they are all struggling from some kind of depression. I like that as you keep reading on it keeps revealing more and more about each character, and that makes it pretty exiting. I recommend that everyone in young adult lit. read this book.

**** I really liked this book. The story is about three teenagers who all tried to kill themselves. I liked that the story was written in the perspective of three different characters. I thought it was interesting reading about the reasons the three characters tried to kill themselves. I thought it kept the story more interesting to hear about how each person reacted to an event in the story. I found it interesting to read about what goes on in the mind of someone that tried to commit suicide and continue to struggle with his or her life. I didn't think that this was the best Ellen Hopkins book, but I would still highly recommend this book to Ellen Hopkins fans.

I thought Impluse was good but, I didn’t really like how the book was in three different peoples heads. It made it difficult to focus on other things. All in all I thoght the book was good and very exciting at the end and would recommend this book to anyone who likes books about fighting the hold of drugs and depression. READ IT!!!
