Uglies *** In Tally's world, everyone gets the operation that makes them pretty when they're sixteen, when they leave the dorms at Uglyville and move to New Pretty Town with the other new pretties. They get wider eyes, healthier skin, and fuller lips. To Tally, nothing could be better but when her best friend Shay begins to have second thoughts about the operation, Tally gets herself into quite a mess. This book is really interesting because of the new technology and new lifestyle these teens live. Scott Westerfeld does an excellent job of making this futuristic fantasy world seem real to the readers. I never thought that I would enjoy reading science fiction, but Uglies is a really great book that everyone should read.
**** Uglies was a really good book. This book is about this girl named Tally and all she wants in the world is to become a pretty. Right now she is an ugly and lives in Uglyville with the rest of the uglies. Shay is one of the uglies who is also one of Tally’s newer friends, but shay doesn't want to be pretty. When you become pretty you get an operation that will change you in many ways that Tally learns about later on. Tally gets herself into a mess of trouble and has to fix her mistakes. This book is really good, and I recommend it to everyone.

She can’t wait to turn 16 because when you turn 16 you get an operation to turn you pretty. Her and her friend shay both are really excited to turn pretty, but shay starts to get second thoughts and that when Tally gets into a big mess. This book was really interesting and I recommend it. One thing I didn’t like about this book was that It got kind of boring in some parts.

When they turn 16, they have an operation that changes their whole body to become pretty. Then they move across the river to Prettytown. Tally has always wanted to become pretty, until she meets Shay. Shay doesn't want to become pretty, so she runs away to The Smoke. This book is very interesting and a lot happens that you don't think will. At the beginning it may seem a little slow, but once you get into it a little bit, you won't want to put it down. I reccomend this book to girls because it seems girly.

When her best friend Shay has second thoughts about getting the operation done Tally gets herself into a big mess. I didn’t really like the book, but it’s not what I usually would read.
The book Uglies was really good and kept me reading. In this book the main character is Tally. In Tally’s time you get an operation at the age of 16. The operation is to turn you pretty. Shay decides she does not want to become pretty. Tally still really wants to be pretty. Tally will have to decide between two big decisions and ends up in a mess of a situation. This book will make you want to read more. I would recommend this book to anyone who likes adventure.

Uglies is about a girl named Tally, who lives in Uglyville, and she is waiting for her 16th birthday so she can get the operation to turn her pretty. She becomes friends with a girl named Shay who tells her about a secret place called “The Smoke” where some uglies run away to. It’s really fun to read about what they do at The Smoke. I would recommend this book to girls, not boys, because it seems like more of a girl-type book.

When her birthday comes she will be turned into a pretty which she has been waiting forever for. The night of her adventure of crashing the Garbo Mansion pretty party she finds a friend named shay. She is wild and fun. She teaches Tally how to hover board. I really like the friendship between Shay and Tally. I like the fact that Shay and Tally find their own ways to have more fun than the “Pretties”. Shay wants to leave Uglyville to go to "the Smoke." The day of Tally's operation, Special Circumstances question Tally and soon make her go on a crazy adventure to look for Shay. I liked this book! It was nice. It is a very interesting book.

They both liked to do ugly tricks together. Just before Tally was supposed to be made pretty shay told her about the Smoke which is a place where uglies live that don’t want to be pretty. The day before Tally was to be made pretty she was taken to special circumstance and was told if she didn’t help find the smoke she would never become pretty. I recommend this book to anyone who really likes Si-fi.
