Make Lemonade is about a teenager, Jolly who is trying to make it through her life with out a job to take care of her two kids. Jolly lives by her self and needs a babysitter and that’s where LaVaughn comes in. LaVaughn is 14 years old but she gets the job. LaVaughn helps Jolly a lot by getting through her life and teaching her what she needs to know about the real world. Jolly can barely read or spell so it’s very hard for her to get a job. A lot of teens could relater to Jollys lifestyle by not having money and poor schooling. I give this book ***.

Make Lemonade is a story about a young girl named Lavaughn who was looking for a job so that she can help pay for college, when she runs across a help wanted sign for a babysitter. But this turns out to be no ordinary babysitting job. She doesnt get paid, falls behind in school, and is barely ever home. She's babysitting for a 17 year old mother of two, who quits her job and is struggling to find a new one. You will follow Lavaughn on her journey through dealing with her own problems trying to find out who she is, while helping Jolly try to find a balance in her family.

*** Make Lemonade by Virginia Euwer Wolff is a very interesting book. The situation in this book is like some people in the real world right now happening. Jolly is a single mom seventeen years old with two kids Jilly and Jeremy. Lavaughn saw help needed in the paper from Jolly. Jolly is struggling to find a new job after she quit her job that she had. What would you do if you had two kids and you lived on your own with no money. I would recommened this book to anyone.

****Make Lemonade is a story that holds many “real life” situations. It’s a story about a 14-16 year old girl, LaVaughn who takes up a babysitting job for a 17 year old high school drop-out with two young kids, Jolly and how LaVaughn becomes involved in helping this family. My favorite character of the story would probably be Jeremy, Jolly’s son and eldest child, because he left an impact on you that made you no able to do anything but love him. The writing style is a bit like free verse poetry, in that the sentences have a slight rhythm and the lines are of varying length. The author did a good job of using this writing style to show where the meaning was in each sentence. The story didn’t always directly say what was happening or what had happened to lead to where they were at, but it did a good job of leaving enough hints to make you infer what could be the cause and effect in the plot. The second half of the book is the best part, so make sure that if you pick it up to read it through to the end.

**** Make Lemonade was an excellent book. There were many places in the book where it kept you guessing and where there was suspense. The book is about a 14 year old girl who is looking for a job, but can’t find any. When she takes up a babysitting job it was a difficult task for her because the house was a mess and the children’s mom didn’t have money. Jolly is Jeremy and Jilly’s mom who dropped out of school when she got pregnant and was homeless for some time. She loses her job and doesn’t have the money to pay LaVaughn, but she keeps watching the kids for no pay. There is much more in this book. I would recommend this book to anybody.

**** This turned out to be one of my favorite stories. In this book a young girl who’s life is controlled by her mother. All Lavaughn wants is to get enough money and good grades to go to college. She does this by babysitting, which leads her to meeting Jolly a 17 year old with two kids and no job. She hires Lavaughn to watch her two kids Jeremy and Jilly while she tries to find a new job. This book is all about working hard to solve your problems and helping others. It’s a really good book and pretty short to so if you want a quick read go for it.
