This book was about a brother and sister who had a really close bond. One day the older brother Monroe was walking outside only to find his sister Anikka floating in the pool face down. He jumps in the pool to save her and starts performing CPR. He saves her life only to find out she's in a coma. The doctors don't know if she'll ever come out of it. His mother decides to bring Anikka home and she finds her comfort in religion. Anikka basically becomes a celebrity in the eyes of the public. Through out the whole book its a waiting game to see if she'll one day wake up.
I thought this book was pretty good. There a few different things going on in between Anikka being in a coma and his mothers new found faith.
Maybe a Miracle definitely deserves ****. I really liked this book and would recommend it. Maybe a Miracle is about Monroe, the main character trying to get through his rough life with his sister, Anikka in a coma. He is what everyone calls a “hero” because he tries to save Anikka out of the pool giving her CPR. But, he doesn’t think that he is a hero because she is now in a coma. He just wants to get his sister out of the coma. Monroe isn’t a normal person he’s a type of person who people picked on for not being very “tough” so Monroe has a lot of things going on his mind everyday. What makes nothing better is his girlfriend breaks up with him leaving him hanging. But, a miracle does happen just like the title Maybe a Miracle.

Monroe is a 18 year old boy, who now has to deal with his little sister Anikka, who is in a coma after he finds her laying in the pool face down. Everyone thinks Monroe is a hero for saving his sister, but a stange line of events start to happen while Anikka is in a coma. His mom turns to god, his older brother Ben has yet to keep tourturing him, and his fathers never ending work keeps him away from the family when should be with him. All Monroe wants is for Anikka to wake up, his girlfriend breaks up with him so who does he have left to turn too? You will follow the Anderson family through a chain of events that will not only shock you, but it will lead to what becomes a "miracle". I would really reccomend that you read this book!
