****The Year of Secret Assignments was a fun and entertaining story! I’ve heard from other people that they weren’t fans of the letter format that the story is written in, but I found it to be a creative way to express not only the actions of the characters but their thoughts as well. This book will definitely go down in my list of must reads and potential rereads. The story was a page turner! I, as a reader, had a hard time putting it down because I always wanted to know what would happen next. If I had to pick a favorite character, I guess it would have to be Seb because he was very artistic and it was fun having him complete the assignments that Lydia sent him out to do. I also liked Cass because she seemed to be off in her own world.

I really enjoyed this book, it was very interesting and fun to read. It was also very easy to read. I liked how they put it in letter format, I think that is what made it so easy to read. The characters where all very interesting and it was fun to read all there letters. I also liked the secret assignments that they gave each other. I also liked how Em, Lyd, and Cassie where all great friends and helped each other through everything.

**** I really enjoyed reading this book. It was a fun book to read and easy. I liked reading the assignments the most between Seb and Lyd, it kind of seamed like a game that they had to complete. Cass, lid and Emily are really close friends and cover each others back when they get in trouble or need someone. There is so much that happens between the kids at Ashbury and Brookfield schools and I wanted to know what happened next so it was a hard book to put down. I think that this book could relate to anyone. I recommend this book to anybody.

I really enjoyed the Year of the Secret Assignments by Jaclyn Moriarty because all the letters (and the other various communications used by the students) linked together the whole story. It took the reader into the lives of the authors showing their perspective in everyday life and how you as the reader AND the other characters can interpret their personalities. The story was really quite clever in its story line, although you sometimes had to muddle thru and remember all the characters and their personal stories and quirks to understand. I really liked how they all ended up with a happy ending, even if it’s not too realistic. I also enjoyed how the book kept you guessing as to what would happen next. It was an adorable story that was good for both guys and girls, because even though it was very simple writing and basic concepts, it got into the depths of friendship and the labyrinth obstacles we face through out life and our teen years.

****The Year of Secret Assignments was a great story. This book was defiantly a book that was hard for me to put down. I liked how it is written, and how it all connected. The only part I didn’t really like was when Lydia would right in that notebook her dad got her. I also like how Cassie benefits from her pen pal even though he was jerk to her from the start. I liked how the book expressed there thoughts, and the actions of the characters. I would recommend this book to everyone, it is a good story and a fast read.

**** I loved this because it was very entertaining and fun to read. I didn’t really like how they wrote the format of the book, but it was still good. This book was mainly about three girls from Ashbury named Lyd, Em, and Cassie. They were giving an assignment by their English teacher to write a letter to a pen pal from Brookfield. These letters get read by three boys named Mathew, Seb, and Charlie. Mathew is one of my exciting characters because he there is always something new you find out about him and I’ll let you find that out for yourself. In this book of The Year of Secrete Assignments.
