**** This book was one of the best books I have read, it was not perfect, but if you love surprises and maybe a little change of heart, you will enjoy this too. In this book, Marena is not ready to forget her old life and she will not be silent. This book is about a government party called Zero Tolerance. The ZT party completely takes over parts of the country. No privacy, no reading, no writing, and NO resisting, not to mention hard training everyday, your parents being “disappeared” and having parts of your brain taken out so you can’t ever talk, see, or hear again. In a world like that someone is bound to resist, and Marena is not alone. This book keeps your hooked the whole time, and throws a few major surprises at you. If you like adventures and characters with strong wills, then you will like this book.

**** I read the silenced and I think it was the best book I’ve read in this class so far. I’ve always been interested in books about the future and what could possibly happen. In the book, a girl named Marena grew up most her life without a mother. She won’t give up what happened and her father won’t tell her the truth of what did happen. Where she lives, it’s runned by ZTs which means zero tolerance. The rules there are very strict and you can’t act out of line. Marena and her two friends, Dex and Eric try to resist and to make a difference with what is going on in her school and community. They’re sick of the non-stop discipline and the strict rules of, not having paper, not having books and not being able to have a freedom of speech. This book makes you never want to put it down and if you like books like that, read this.
