* I wasn't very fond of this book. I found it rather rather insubstantial. Even though Tim O'Brian was good at telling his stories, they really didn't connect much as you were reading the story, so it never really kept me glued to the book. A few of the stories were pretty good, however. It wasn't all bad. All and all, though, I would not reccomend this book.
** -- I thought this book was insightful but not that intriguing. This book is about several different Vietnam War stories that had at times something in common. The first part of the book I thought was fairly good. I was very interested in what they were carrying. I would only recommend this book to people who enjoy reading about the Vietnamese War.
** I did not really like this book it was kind of confusing to me. and I did not really get any thing out of it. The book was about time o'brian and his war stories but there was way to many plots for me to under stand.I do not recomed this book.
