*** Fallen Angels by Walter Dean Myers was a really easy going book. It was hard at times to tell which person was talking but you could figure it out by the time they were talking. It takes place over in Vietnam. The main character is Tyler and he went into the service to help his mom out so he could send his brother to school. When he joins the service he gets sent over seas to fight for his country. If you’re a person who likes to read war books this is the book for you. I hope you enjoy it because I really did.

**** Fallen Angels was an awesome book about a dark time in the history of America. It is set in Vietnam and follows a squad of guys from all over the states. The main characters name is Richard Perry, and his reason for going to Vietnam was to get away from home. Fallen Angels depicts the hellish war and the brutal horrors of the Vietnam War in a masterful way. It doesn’t leave out anything; everything is explained no matter how bad it is. This is a Great War book and I strongly recommend reading this book.

*** Fallen Angels was a really great book. Its about a guy named Richard Perry who grew up in Harlem, and his dad leaves the family. His mom becomes an alcoholic, and he wants to join the war to get away from troubles at home. I thought that the author described the combats really good because he doesn't leave out any detial. i recomend that everyone read this book.

I think the book Fallen Angels by Walter Dean Myer is a must read and is a ***** book. I think it deserves this because there isn't a war book as realistic as this, it shows how men act and treat eachother by race but yet when we need each other we are willing to save each other. Another part I liked about the book is that it was based on the Vietnam war and i have been taught about alot of wars but didn't really learn about it in depth like this. Even if this book is fiction it still gives you a great amount of knowledge about war. Also I liked how it used real life tearms like firefight and gooks.

*** Fallen Angels is a book about the black soldiers in the Vietnam war. The main character is a black man from New York named Richard Perry. There is alot of talk in this book about the guys remembering what home is like and if they will ever return. There is alot of friendships made in this book. The action is epic and the relationships between everyone is something different. I recomend this book to anyone who wants to know about racism in the war.

Fallen Angels by Walter Dean Myers is a book about a small group of men who are Vietnam for one reason or another. Honestly the book is good but I’m not really drawn into the book. If you like books about fear and the development of a man in the military who doesn’t want to be there, and the trauma of being in ‘nam’ then you will like this book. But other then that I do not recommend this book, the idea of the book is good but I don’t think Myers really did it justice. The book in my opinion wasn’t written well at all.

The book Fallen Angels, by Walter Dean Myers, was a novel based off of the experiences of the soldiers during the Vietnam War. Although the concept of this novel was some what intriguing, I found the writing style of the author to be bland. The “he said this” “they went there” format of the book made it hard for me to remain interested. In my opinion there were too many characters to keep track of, and the author gave little information needed to understand the vocabulary he used refer to the war. Because I had little background knowledge on the Vietnam War, it was difficult for me to comprehend certain parts. However, if you like reading about wars, battles, and bloody details, you would be interested in reading this book.

*** The Book Fallen Angels was decent. The book described portrayed the life of a US Vietnam War soldier. It depicted how the life of an African American Soldier and his squad was. The main character was Richie Perry. Perry was one of the soldiers that enlisted to fight in Vietnam. During his time in Vietnam he befriended another African American soldier who went by the name of Peewee. Throughout the book he had to deal with many challenges that occurred between his squad and the Vietcong with a few battles with the NVA as well. It showed how the Vietcong would use hit and run tactics against the US soldiers and would use traps. During his stay in Vietnam, Perry lost some members from his battalion.

Fallen Angles by Walter Dean Myers wasn’t a good book for me. It’s about a guy named Perry that doesn’t quite know who he is when he goes to Vietnam, and throughout his experience he develops a sense of who he is. He, like the other soldiers in Vietnam, doesn’t know why he’s fighting in the war, and in the book he actually makes a connection with the Northern Vietnamese soldier in how they both don’t know why they’re there, but both are good soldiers that do what they’re told. The book does a good job at describing the feels someone might have after a battle, and seeing someone die.
