I really liked this book in many different ways but for the most reason is that its based on a true story and true events. I like how even Irene wasn't German but Polish that she decided to help out the Jews by giving them a place to stay, food and amd more freedom to have besides being in camps. It was interesting to see how many people were helping Irene with the Jews and the people helping her were German or German commanders. It;s bad though to read about how Irene lived as an older teenager and all the tramic things she went through with rape and being beaten to get were she was then and now. I recommened this book to anyone who likes true stories and people helping out one another.

*** I thought In My Hands was really good. What made the book better was knowing that it is a true story about Irene Gut. She was a fighter in many different ways and was very strong mentally and physically. But, she made it through getting beat and sexually abused. Irene was not disliked by many she was helping and caring for anyone possible. Smuggling the jews in was the worst but best thing she could possible do it took a lot of effort and thought. Personally I would be way to scared of getting caught. I would recommend this book to people who like sort or mystery and a full of events book.

*** I thought In My Hands was a great book. It is about a young girl named Irene Gut, who is a student nurse when the war begins, and it follows her through seven hard years of sadness and triumph. Her true story is depicted in a way that is bone-chilling. Irene is even bold enough to go our of her way and save many Jews from their untimely fate, despite the fact that she is safe from all harm, being under the care of a German Major. In My Hands is an inspiring novel that anyone should read if they wish to know more about the events that took place during the Holocaust.
