*** “Just Listen” started off with a girl, Annabel, who had been what people thought to be perfect, but after one night that changed her life at the beginning of the summer, she was going back as a social outcast, with the only person who talked to her was another kind of outcast, Owen Armstrong. I didn’t really like how it was constantly flashing back to random times when she was younger, and it didn’t tell you the incident that had happened but just kept referring back to words that had been said to her that night in her head. Reading it was also kind of frustrating because Annabel was constantly just isolating herself and just stopped being friends with people and yet thought of herself as one of the nicest people even though she was hurting others. I liked the ending though because she was finally able to speak out and resolve things and was able to go back to some of her old friends.

*** “Just Listen, by Sarah Dessen” Annabel made people think she was a good girl, but not after one day in the summer. Annabel, Whitney, and Kirsten had a job of being a model. Then something happens to Whitney and Annabel at the end. I didn’t really like how the book jumped around in some parts. Also Annabel just stopped talking to her friends. I liked the end because she finally opened up and solved some of her problems that she had. I highly recommend this book to others.

“Just Listen” was a pretty amazing book for me, at least. It deals with so much, including the difficulties of being a teenager, trying to live up to your parent’s expectations, anorexia, friendship, and even rape. Owen is one of the most important characters in the book because he teaches Annabel how to open up and tell other people how she feels, including her ex-best friend, Sophie and Annabel’s own mother. All in all, I recommend this book wholeheartedly, especially for teenage girls.

***I thought this book was actually pretty good. I could relate to Annabel, in the sense that Sophie was a bad friend, and controlling, and always mean to people. I've had friends like that and lost friends to people like that. Her family issues made the book more real, because her family always tried to make it seem like they have it all together, even though everything is falling apart around them. The relationship between Annabel and Owen is very sweet because he talks to her when no one else will. This book reminds us all that sometimes speaking up is the right thing to do.

I really liked this book because it dealt with many different problems, teenagers might have in their lives. Annabel is – like her two older sisters - a model. Basically she just keeps up with it because it helps her mother, who is very depressed because of something that happened with Annabel’s sister Whitney. In the book, Annabel becomes friends with Sophie, but later she will regret that. Annabel has to experience something, that will change her live drastically and she will totally isolate herself. When Owen comes into her live, she learns to open up again and she learns to be honest to herself and other people.
I highly recommend this book.

****Just Listen is about a girl named Annabelle. Almost all her life she has been a model, but lately she has wanted to quit. She used to be Best Friend hates her living guts. One guy at party ruined her life for what she thought would be forever. Until what happened to her happened to someone else. She kept what happen to her a secret. She lost all of her friends her life was becoming lonely. Until the day she met Owen. He changed her life forever. He made her life wroth living even if he made her tell truth when she know she didn’t want too.

Annabel lives in a glass house with a gorgeous family complete with a bucket of problems. Her entire school now hates her including her (ex) best friends, her sister nearly starves herself to death to be beautiful, and her family starts to fall apart before her eyes and the only one who can save her is one of the most unlikely individuals in the whole school: the large muscular Owen who’s been thru anger management more than once. This was a great book dealing with many different obstacles that came into her way and how she fixed them. I really liked the writing style because it seemed more real. It felt like I could really relate to the character and understand her emotions and feelings. The book title was perfect because all Annabel needs to do is just listen. This was more of a story for girls who are struggling with life because the characters are so real.

*** The book Just Listen is an ok book. I thought it was kind of slow in the beginning but picked up part way through. This book is about a girl named Annabelle who goes through a rough time over the summer and losses most of her friends. She becomes friends with somebody who is considered the outcast, Owen Armstrong. I didn’t like how the book would go to flash backs at random times. I liked the ending of the book because she finally got the chance to tell her story and have people listen to her.
