I thought that this book wasnt really all that good. i would give it a 5 out of 10 just because it wasnt really my cup of tea i dont like reading books about stuff i already know about. I guess that it would be better if i was a girl cuz its from a girls point of view.

The Dairy Queen by Catherine Murdock was a good book overall, but not one my favorites. It’s about a teenage girl named D.J. Schwenk who lives on a farm with her family and it going through one of her toughest summers. Her dad broke his hip, so D.J. had to take over all the farm chores for him. During the summer, the Harley (Red Bend’s rival) back-up quarterback Brian comes to help D.J. at the farm. Next thing they knew, they were training together and D.J. would make a decision for herself that would jeopardize her relationship with Brian and her family. I liked the fact that this book took place in Wisconsin and that it is about a girl near my age. The book was a little slow in the beginning and the ending is a little obvious, but ends the book with a good start for the sequel. I would recommend this book for anyone who wants a quick read and who really likes football or farming.

** This book was okay. I liked it better the first time I read it, but reading it a second time just dragged it out more and got completely boring! This book is about a girl named DJ who runs her dads farm practically by herself, because her dad broke his hip. A friend decides to give them help from this lazy out of shape football quarterback, Brian. He did that to toughen him up and help out DJ. Brian is from DJ's school rivals. DJ gets the idea to coach him, but really she wants to be a football player herself. This book was okay if your going to read it for the first time, but anymore than that is too much!

**** I thought Dairy Queen was a really good book. I liked it because it was about a girl around my age and it was based in Wisconsin. Its about a girl named D.J and she runs her dads farm by her self because her two older brothers are on the college football team and her dad broke his hip and now cooks. I like how D.J goes for the things that really matters to her. Bryan a boy from Hawley had to help D.J with the farming and with working on the farm she starts training him for the football session. I really like this book overall. The begging was kind of slow but the end picked up and went by fast. I would recommend this book to anyone even if you don’t like football or farming.

****Dairy Queen is about DJ a sophomore in Red Bend WI. She is stuck running the family’s dairy farm while her dad’s hip heals. A family friend sends Brian Nelson(QB for the rival school Hawley) over to work on the farm and get a work ethic. DJ ends up training Brian in football. She learns a lot about herself and her family in this book. I loved Dairy Queen, it’s a great story. It really fit’s the theme of Identity. I really love being able to hear about the places she goes and actually know what it’s like there.

****Dairy Queen is about a girl who has to take on all the responsibility of running a dairy farm, after her father hurts his leg, and is unable to work. While working on the farm she meets a young boy named Brian who is forced to help her in order to be on the football team. They work together over the summer, and we watch as their relationship unfolds into something more. As the end of the summer approaches DJ has a big decision to make about what she wants out of life. I would strongly recommend this book. I always wanted to read more, and had a hard time putting it down.

Dairy Queen was a fun book to read because its shows a girl who has to work on a farm because her dad has broken a hip. DJ has to be responsible for the farm chores. A friend from the family sends Brian Nelson over the farm to work, DJ ends up training him for football season. Also DJ learns how to talk to her family. I really like this book because it shows that a girl can play football and work on a farm. I would recommend this book to anyone that likes farming and football, because it really talks about football, and also is a good love story.

****Dairy Queen was a really good book. It shows that you can do anything if you put your kind to it. There were people who thought that she shouldn't play football but if turns out that she's really good at it. I would recomend this book for anyone because I think that it's enjoyable for both boys and girls.
