The book Eragon written by Christopher Paolini is one of my favorites. It centers on a boy, Eragon, who comes across a mysterious rock in the mountain range near his home. Once the Empire, the oppressive government in charge, learns that Eragon is in possession of this rock; his life is turned upside down. He is now an enemy of the Empire and is fighting for his life throughout the novel. The book has a lot of action and is very well written. I strongly recommend it.
